I just wanted to tell all staff that responded to the riot on RCW, what a great job. The unit was hopping and we were able to get them down and take control of the unit very fast considering the magnitude of the incident. West yard, you guys were great thanks for the help. But our biggest Victory was that no staff were hurt in the incident. The Warden and high ups, commented on how we handle our business.
Who wus the I/C, who let out at least 7 i/m's without 135's, without photos, without escape cards? Wut kind of coRRectIonAL geniuses do you have over der?
Gee the Warden comments about West but won't fix any of the security issues at West ... but upgrades on every other facility ???? West is the facility who keeps having the riots, we do our jobs but at some point this gambelling with security issues is going to get Staff hurt, we've been lucky so far ...
I was the I/C. Of the five that were send out Code-III four were due to multiple stab wounds, one was experiencing symptoms of a heart attack. The decision was made to send them out immediately. Like it or not the department is dedicated to the preservation of life weather it be staff, visitors or inmates. The decisions made during the incident from the EOC, IC, response supervisors, Code-III responders, on-site staff, and the parole agent that was there swinging, and spraying were in my opinion appropriate. All inmates sent out were documented by the incident scribe, sally port staff, Control, EOC, and main gate staff. I don’t believe this was a frugal escape attempt. As soon as the smoke cleared all appropriate documentation was prepared and delivered. In my opinion CIM is full of Correctional Geniuses. If you can come up with any other criticisms let me know.
I/C, it is easy to quarterback from the Hospital desk position. If this person was ever involved in a riot, they would know emergency procedures. This is our second, dance and Ive never seen anyone more calm under fire than you. What a stupid comment from the peanut gallery!
Pratt did a great job and I wish he was there 5 days a week, it would be nice to have a Lieutenant who actually takes care of buisness and takes care of staff !
Anyone who wants to armchair quarterback wasn't there !
I'm not sure if this is the first time we had a code 3 with the new locations of the code 3 equipment. But props to IST LT. who came up with the idea of moving the gear to the yards. It proved very effective, our response could not have been any faster. Lt. "C" good idea!
